As the title says, there are no selectable worlds in the in-game selection list even though there should be one. Now, I searched around the web and most people encountered a blue screen that forced a client relaunch, but when I last closed my world it was via the "Save and Quit" option in the Esc. menu. That makes me mystified even further.
I've also heard that some people were able to access their worlds through MCEdit, but upon trying to edit my world I was met with the error message that's attached to this post. Here's the text:
An error occurred while opening C:\Users\kylea\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\Modded Survival
Not an NBT file with a root TAG_Compound (file starts with " ‹" (0x00088b1f)
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "mcedit2\widgets\layout.py", line 65, in setWidgetError
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0x8b in position 62: ordinal not in range(128)
I think this error message might shed some light as to why I can't engage with the world file in-game. Since there's no crashing, I can't really offer any crash reports so this is all I can give y'all to go on.
I'd hate to lose this world, so can anyone lend some aid? Thanks~

Hello there, I have a peculiar issue.
As the title says, there are no selectable worlds in the in-game selection list even though there should be one.
