So I use the minecraftinstaller.msi to download minecraft obviously, but after through the whole process, only the shortcut has been made. In the the appdata folder, there is no .minecraft. I know the issue, but can not solve it.
- I use windows 7
- Have most recent java
- I have tried the repair option within the installer and within the uninstall page

So...what exactly is the issue? Does Minecraft start? Do you get any errors?
It won't make the .minecraft folder until you run the launcher. Run the launcher and look again.
So, after it is done downloading, it is supposed to open up a launcher correct? It does not open for me or even when I click on the minecraft shortcut
Use the old launcher.
