I just logged into Minecraft to play my world, and I just came to find out the MINECRAFT DELETED MY WORLD! I know it's just a game, but I spent so much time on it that I could have been using to do something else. I don't know what happened. I was just lagging, crashed, and then when I came back in my world was just GONE! What happened?!?! I really need help. I restored my world but it's only to the point where I didn't have as much stuff as I did when I was lagging. I had 11 DIAMONDS ON ME! Now I have no diamonds, and I have to start all over again. I'm just so confused. Thanks a lot, Minecraft.
The game never deletes a world for no reason - you say you crashed? That explains what happened - the world got corrupted when the game suddenly quit in the middle of saving (which it does nonstop since there is no way an entire world could ever be loaded at once). This is also why it is especially important to make regular backups (more so than with other software/games).
Luckily, the world is not deleted at all - you can still find it if you look in your .minecraft folder (on Windows type in %appdata% and it is the .minecraft folder) and go to saves and inside should be folders for each of your world(s). The first thing that you can try is to revert to a previous version (if it is enabled for that folder) by right-clicking and go to "properties", then click the "previous versions" tab (again, on Windows) and choose a previous version from before the crash.
If there are no previous versions available go into the folder for your world and inside that you should see some files, including a "level.dat" and "level.dat_old" - the reason why the world no longer shows up in the saves menu is because "level.dat" got corrupted (this one file is all that the game needs to "see" a world). After making a copy of the world delete "level.dat" (sometimes it may not even exist after a crash) and rename "level.dat_old" to "level.dat" ("level.dat_old" is a backup from the last time the game saved) and see if it appears in the menu again. This is not guaranteed to fix the world since both files could be corrupted or missing but it is the most common and easiest way to fix a world.
It is possible that some chunks may have been corrupted as well though, in which case you might have parts of your house (etc) replaced with new terrain (as if you never built anything) or even incorrect terrain (chunks misplaced); this is not easy to fix unless you have a backup (if it is a Survival world you could open to LAN and temporarily enable cheats (if not already enabled) so you can rebuild it in Creative; I would not see this as cheating unless you gave yourself stuff that you did not lose).

I cannot help you with recovering the world but we can stop this from happening again, what your Computer spec? are you using any mods(please mention even the FPS booster) and post your Dxdiag log.
I have a Lenovo and it lags often due to antiviruses and it's not really a very good computer for Minecraft but it's good enough to just play. I can't play with mods even if I really wanted to because it would just lag and crash.

Please post a dx-diag log, what you said doesn't give us much information.
Instruction on how to get it is in my signature ( How to get Dxdiag log)

I was in 1.12, by the way.

If you still have issues or need more help you can post a world download (upload it as a zip file to a site like Mediafire or Dropbox) with a description of what happened to this thread and somebody can repair it (in most cases): http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/discussion/297844-official-corrupted-save-recovery-thread
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

I don't use any mods, and I have no idea what you just said.
I found my world in my saves folder, and I tried restoring it, but it just restored to the point that I wasn't at.
