Hey guys, thanks for clicking on this thread. So recently, as the title says, I've had some trouble with shaders; here is how to story goes...
I purchased and recieved an MSI GeForce GTX 1080 about 5 days ago. Upon receiving it and installing it into my computer, I instantly proceeded to set all my game's graphics to ultra and install SEUS and a few other shaders for Minecraft. That day, I played for about 2 hours using SEUS in Ultra with no problem at all, ran smoother than butter at about 80-100 FPS. However, the next day was when it all happened... I logged into my Minecraft server (The Community Chest, check it out!) and starting playing. About 10 minutes into my session, the screen was washed over by green and purple artifacts, or what I could only assume as "artifacts". I've never seen this happen before and it scared me so I instantly shut down the game before the green and purple could take over the entire screen. I unfortunately didn't get any screenshots of this happening. Now, whenever I try to run Ultra settings in ANY shader, the screen just turns a whitish color with faint other colors and I cannot see the world at all. There is also some buzzing coming from my 1080 which I'm assuming is this elusive "coil whine" everyone talks about (also wasn't happening before the incident). So, there you have it. I am completely at a loss as to how to get shaders working in any setting above "standard" now even though the GTX 1080 should have absolutely no problem running them. If anyone knows what happened or how to fix it, PLEASE help me, its bugging me very much and I'd rather fix it myself than sending the card back to MSI and being without graphics for two weeks. I guess I should also mention that all my other games are still running fine @Ultra settings, these include PUBG, Overwatch, CS:GO, Elder Scrolls Online, etc.
Here are the rest of my specs if it matters:
ASRock Z270 Killer SLI/ac Motherboard
Intel i5 7600k Quad-Core Processor @3.4 GHz
16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 RAM @3000 MHz
Samsung 850 EVO 240GB SSD
DeepCool Gamerstorm 120EX white Liquid CPU Cooler
EVGA 750w SuperNova 80PLUS Gold Certified PSU
NZXT H440 Steel Mid-Tower case w/ 3x 120mmfans and 1x 140mm fan
Thanks for your assistance guys, I really hope I can get this figured out!
