After a few recent updates, Minecraft has devolved into an unplayable game after playing for about 2-3 minutes. After a while of playing, the game slows to a slide show and nothing has repaired it. I have uninstalled all my profiles, played on a new world, took off all my mods and maps, reinstalled the game, set priority to high in the ctrl-alt-delete menu, changed all settings to the absolute lowest they could be set, and played on earlier versions and nothing has fixed my game. I have contacted the bug tracker and was told "This is a technical support issue; this site is for bug reports only." I then contacted the support on the minecraft website. I was told "Unfortunatly, this help center is limited mostly to accounts and billing; we do not have a technical support team." If you cant tell, this is increasingly frustrating that I cannot get help on this issue. Apparently this is not a bug so what is it.
You can do that for no reason, but Minecraft only uses a given amount of RAM for the game to work properly. You will notice in the screenshot above that it is only using 35% of the 1GB allocated.
I have had a similar problem (laptop went from 150fps to a max of 40, with spikes as low as 0). All I did was completely remove any drivers that Intel and Windows had installed, then I installed the latest drivers from Intel. The problem turned out to be a "dud" graphics driver. All seemed to go well afterwards.
