So me n friends use to play minecraft in the same house, and it was easy to play over LAN. However now, we've moved away and are wanted to play online with eachother on our own server. But it is so god damn hard and confusing to people who have no understanding of how servers, portforwarding, and stuff like that go, to even be able to play with eachother. Me and my friend have spent hours the past few days, reading guides, and watching videos on how we can play together. It will not work, anything we do, we cannot play with eachother. Why is something so simple as to just join a friends world, so complicated to do. On Xbox, for example; go to player profile u wanna join, press join, bam ur in their world. But on PC it is just rediculously complicated just to play with a friend. There needs to be something that can make friendly multiplayer easier. Literally every multiplayer game in the world, has an easy way of joining friends, except for Minecraft. Gaming over all consoles for 15 years, and i have never run into a multiplayer game that is this complicated to actually play multiplayer (excluding servers you find online).
The error we have come up with no matter what we do is this. If you know how to fix i would appreciate.

What do you mean for money? I could list off a ton of multiplayer games that have easy multiplayer accessablity for literally no cost other than buying the game. Realms is literally just a way to squeeze more money from the playerbase that dont understand or cant figure out how to play multiplayer in the alternative method.
