I am unable to view/click Minecraft. Basically, I will double click the game to launch it [I've even tried running as Admin] and the game will start up, load the files and then finish. When I go to click the Icon on the "Task Bar" It will not pop up the game at all in a window so I can view it. If I hit "Alt Tab" I can clearly see it loaded but when selecting it, it will not show it, but it will say that I have it selected in the taskbar.
I haven't done anything new with my game nor my computer, the night before I was playing with a friend on a Skymod I believe? I can't recall the name that well, I've already uninstalled the curse now twitch app off my computer and completely uninstalled Minecraft. I've reinstalled multiple times and even tried using an older version with no luck, but all and all I need the more current to work. I'm out of ideas and if I'm being honest I don't know what else to do. Right now all I have is MC on my computer with no twitch app.
I heard Nvidia had an update that messed with it, but mines updated twice since I've found that out. This issue has been going on for a least a month or so? It's taken me a while to finally find a decent form to ask for help. Other than that I've tried older Java versions, and more or less have recently updated to the more recent one that's been released.
So I'm thinking it's not the mod since I've uninstalled but I could be wrong.
I would, however, a friend and I were playing on modded minecraft.. and even looking to do a server for a friend as well. So that kinda puts a damper on things if I use the old launcher. At this moment, I'm trying to look everywhere I can to try and fix this current issue. Considering I had the game open, it worked, and then when I closed out of it, it no longer worked. Is annoying, anyway, sorry for the long-winded comment.
This is unmodded client support, if you need help with modded post to the appropriate section. The new launcher has bugs that can only be fixed by the developers, hence the workaround with the old one.
I'm aware of that and I'm not looking for modded support, I was just mentioning that's why I hadn't gone back to an earlier version. Minecraft, in general, will not run for me, modded or not, I've uninstalled everything and even deleted the .minecraft Folder. I've just installed the regular download for it. After that, I've been trying to get it to let me click it but it won't allow me too, even through Alt+Tab. I can clearly see it running it just will not allow me to select it and log in and or use the program at all.
I did some research and found out that apparently, Nivida graphics card had an update that messed with Minecraft, however, there was a hotfix that should have patched it up. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me, so that's why I'm here trying to figure out what else it could be, other than just rolling back because that wouldn't work if I was aiming to play with friends who have the more current version.
In short, in order to fix the issue it being my computer missing something or not, I would need to first get MC running before worrying about mods, which are no longer on my computer might I add, so they wouldn't be interfering with what I'm doing now. Though, other than that there was someone else who suggested that it might be a java issue? Which I updated to the current and even tried an earlier version of, but in the end was unable to get that to work either. In that as well I heard it could be because I didn't see the "java runtime environment" or something, so I'm still looking into that myself.
And that someone else suggested that it might be the frame network? So now I'm looking to make sure I have that updated or if that's the issue to do something else here. I'm not ruling out that this could just be an issue with MC, I'm just bothered by the fact that it would work one moment and not work the next over the course of a few short hours, literally being like four hours or so. I suppose, in that sense once I've done everything I can and looked into everything then I'd have no choice but to say, yes, it is probably a developer problem more so than my issues on my side.
