I have seen other people have the same problem, but they're posts were more then a couple months old, so I'd rather make a new thread.. I've installed both GLSL Shaders and Optifine to fit the Minecraft version I am using, I've searched up where to put them.. as in the "Mods" folder, or the " shaderpacks" folder, and I've tried every suggestion I was given yet, there were no promising results, but I do have a "shaders" bar in options and *in-game* I'll click it and it'll bring up a message "shader initialized" and there still is no difference..? I know my computer is capable of running shaders..is it something I am doing?
I downloaded both otifine and shaders, and it crashed and said that shaders is already inside of optifine, I do not believe you need shaders AND optifine.

What version of minecraft are you using?
1.7.10

The instructions I was told to download the shaders basically said that later versions have optifine and earlier versions "1.7.10" do not support it.
