Today, I got the urge to play Minecraft for the first time in about two updates. After a couple unsuccessful loads, I uninstalled and reinstalled both Java 8 and Minescraft. The launcher works fine, the menus work fine, but when I try to actually play, the game would linger on a lagging screen for about 10 seconds before crashing. I attempted to allocate more RAM with the "advanced settings" option. Now, it is giving me a "SE Binary has stopped working" kind of error message.
I just want to play Minecraft!!!!!
Can anyone help me figure this out?

Launch options of the launcher, click your configuration, toggle java executable, point it to your java exe. Example: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_131\bin\java.exe
