So my friend and I have been playing Minecraft together in a LAN world that I've been hosting for about two weeks now, and suddenly today when we go to log in, she spawned at the original spot where we started instead of where she last saved, and she has nothing in her inventory. I checked the files for the world save and it created a new .dat for her instead of accessing her old one (which is still there). She hasn't changed her account name or anything, in fact nothing had changed since the last time we played two nights ago. The only difference we've been able to identify is that my Minecraft Launcher is running version 2.0.935 and hers is running 2.0.934, and she can't seem to get it to update.
Another odd thing (though maybe unrelated?) is that our character skins are messed up. When she logged in her character had the Alex skin instead of Steve, even though she never manually changed that and had been the Steve skin the whole time we were playing, defaulting to Steve originally. My character is also no longer the custom skin I've been using for years, suddenly I'm Steve again.
I don't know what's going on but if anyone has had a similar issue and fixed it, or has any ideas, any help would be appreciated. In case it's somehow relevant too, I'm running on Mac OS X and she's running on Windows.

Are you still having the same problem? The Minecraft authentication servers were down earlier today and that can temporarily cause what you described.
Yep, that must have been what it was, cause it's all back to normal now. Gave us a scare for a while there, haha. Thanks!
