My operating system is Windows 10, but I'm using the Java version. I've disabled both my Windows Firewall and my antivirus program (I even uninstalled Avast, keeping Malwarebytes deactivated and shut off). I've restarted my machine and uninstalled/reinstalled Minecraft several times, and I'm still getting the same issue. Basically, I'll install Minecraft from the main website, start MinecraftInstaller with no problem, open up Minecraft.exe, press "Play 1.12" and it'll start downloading, only to completely stop when it gets to pt_br.lang.
I uninstalled all traces of ByteFence (I had to do a system search and deleted two webpage files), gave MinecraftLauncher.exe a exemption through my firewall, and ended my anti-virus through Task Manager (it's Malwarebytes Free so it doesn't actively scan or anything unless you pay for it). It still gets stuck on pt_br.lang.

Make sure your antivirus isn't blocking Minecraft and uninstall ByteFence if you have it
Delete Malwarebytes as I believe it's part of ByteFence
