So I've been having this issue for a long time now, I think like 2 years now, I tried ignoring this issue but it always keeps bugging me from time to time. So I decided to post this to finally settle this issue once and for all.
Basically, whenever I load a new world or move fast (e.g. running, horse riding, gliding with elytras, etc.) it stutters for like every 3 seconds. and when I look into my lagometer (see attached picture) it's being caused my memory garbage collection (orange lines). I tried this at 12-16 render distance but it still keeps happening and I don't know what to do. I'm using Optifine.
Things I tried to do:
-add more ram to minecraft (4gb)
-tweaked some JVM arguments. (-Xmx4G -Xms4G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC) this is what I'm using right now.
-decreased ram allocation (I made it 500mb -1gb, problem still persist.)
-used different versions of Java (currently using 1.8.0_25, since it comes with the new launcher.)
-made minecraft high priority.
Specs:
I'm using an Alienware alpha i5 model. ( I know alienware sells overpriced pieces of plastic. I'm not familiar with computers when I got this. I learned my lesson buying from them)
