I recently found my old Beta 1.7.3 world and was wondering if I could go back into the world and have some nostalgia. I only have the region folder with the only contents being 2 files which are called r.0.1.mcr and r.-1.1.mcr.
My first attempt at recovering this world was made when I copied the region folder into the saves folder of a beta 1.7.3 client version that I made using the launcher, the only issue is that the world does not show up in the single player menu.
Next I created a new world in that client version, copied and pasted the .mcr files into the region folder of that new world, and used a program on Dinnerbone's website to locate which chunks and blocks were contained in those .mcr files. I then went into this world and explored the region that was given via the website but could not find where my old world chunks were contained at.
Is there any other way to run these .mcr files that I have or is it a lost cause? Thanks for the help in advance.
