I have been playing Minecraft for years now and I have never encountered something like this. I'm running the game on a Mac and when I open the launcher, I receive a message that says "A fatal error has occurred for unknown reasons." It doesn't remember my account, so I log in and when I hit Play, it says "Unable to create temporary directory." The details say, "Error details: No space left on device." What's going on? I was playing just fine a few hours ago. I couldn't find anyone on any forums with the same problem. I haven't downloaded and mods or texturepacks. I'd really appreciate help!
Well yes, I understand that, but what does that mean I need to do? Do I delete files or images from my laptop to fix it? What has caused this message to show up now? Thanks in advance.
I see. I am not familiar with Mac at all, so I can't help you check how much room is left on your PC, but I'm willing to bet Tails1 is right on the money with having to free up some space on your computer.

Thank you.
Well the error is pretty obvious, isn't it? You've ran out of space.

What OS are you using?

Yes you need to create some space either by deleting unnecessary stuff or installing an additional harddrive. The cause of the message is the lack of required space for the game to work, see Minecraft's requirements https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/325948-minecraft-system-requirements
Yosemite 10.10.5
