I've not played Minecraft since 1.10.2. I backed-up my save folder and deleted my Minecraft directory for a clean install. I used the Java uninstall tool, then installed the newest of both 32 and 64-bit versions. I went to Minecraft.net, downloaded and ran the installer.

The error message I get is:

"Unable to update the Minecraft Native Launcher"

It attempts to download the launcher over and over repeatedly. It seems to download it just fine, taking the appropriate amount of time as the progress bar moves toward 100%, but once there, it returns to 0% and starts again, this time "downloading" much, much faster.

I restarted my computer and tried again with no luck.

Is there a place where I can open a trouble ticket with Mojang as I can't play Minecraft?

I tried running the native installer as admin with Windows firewall off, but that didn't work.

However, I tried telling the installer to remove Minecraft, then I ran the MSI installer again . . . and it worked. Even though I deleted my MC directory, I guess the installer needed to remove whatever was left.
