I get really, really bad color banding in any darker areas. I did a bit of playing around in video settings, and i found setting fancy to fast gets rid of the problem.
Specs:
CPU: i7 7700k
MOBO: Asus Prime z270a
GPU: MSI ARMOR 8G OC GTX 1070
RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengence LPX 3000mhz
my drivers are up to date.
anyone know how to fix this problem other than using fast graphics?
screenshots taken in optifine client, but problem persists in vanilla

I know this isn't really relevant.. by why use fast settings with those specs?
I don't see any difference between the two screenshots. Have you tried a different monitor?
