First of all, sorry if this is posted in the wrong place on the forums. I tried my best to look at where it would be appropriate, but there was no section for "lag complaints" that I found. This is my very first "post" anyways.
Some things you may need to know: I have an HP 64-bit Windows 10 laptop, it's a few years old, broke not that long ago, and was fixed very recently.
So, to cut to the chase, as the title suggests, I have been experiencing some recent lag outbreaks in Minecraft.
Everything was completely fine...
I have relatively good connection when I decide to play on Minecraft servers, and my max frame rate as well as my connection bars are high enough. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, other than a poor expansion of the Wifi (which is not Minecraft itself of course).
Then one day, recently, the Wifi in one of my houses just shut down. But it was nothing to worry about, as I reset the modem and the internet came back. However, everything was very laggy. Then, when the time came, I went to my other house - the wifi is perfectly fine there - and for whatever reason, the Minecraft application is still showing signs of insane lag, as in delayed hits/shots, players literally freezing every 2 seconds and pausing in the air, and whatnot.
There are no signs of an issue with the internet currently, as the web browser is working very well and other electronic devices such as a phone seems to be working fine too. So I figured it SHOULD probably have to do with Minecraft - somehow. So, I spent about 2 hours looking up on Youtube and following certain tutorials that had instructions on many different ways to fix general "lag" or perhaps how to avoid having things get "frozen" perhaps.
Here is a simple list of things I did:
-Uninstall Java completely. Then I reinstalled it (the latest version according to the websites I downloaded them from). Then, I reinstalled both a 64-bit and a 32-bit (since the tutorial I was watching said to install both if you have a 64-bit windows computer).
-Go to the Java Settings, and insert "-Xincgc -Xmx3072M" into both of the "Runtime Parameters" under 'User.'
-Go into the preferences of my Minecraft Launcher (I was recommended to use the TLauncher-MCL launcher, and I am), and I inserted the exact code:
into the JVM arguments - which was blank, as well as change the Memory Allocation to 1024 and saved my changes. (this was a 1.10.2 Optifine version)
Now... this I ran Minecraft, but the problem that I was hoping to fix - players constantly freezing - was still there. I figured to restart my computer, did that, and still, the same thing. Here is a video I took as an example (and no, the recording software running in the background is not the problem, because it was like that before):
However, I did feel like there was a slight, or maybe even big difference with how well it ran. It's just for some reason, something is causing it to freeze. And here's the strange part. I went into a PvP match (Gladiators on Mineplex to be specific), and it was almost not even laggy at all. So I am honestly really just confused. After I have written this whole thread, I would have spent like 4 hours trying to fix this - it's very upsetting. So PLEASE, somebody, help me.
i would be quick to blame it on the server host's speed. Was the server you were lagging on earlier not mineplex? Is the internet at house #1 going very slow?
1. Try a few different servers, see if they perform the same
2. Flush your computer's dns by opening command prompt and running: "ipconfig /flushdns"

3. re-install Minecraft if you haven't already
4. Use the default launcher
Let me know how it works :-)
Browsing for texture packs? Why not try some of mine?
