I was having issues with the new launcher, so I switched back to launcher ver. 1.6.73-j. When I start 1.8.8, I get this:
Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: Using incremental CMS is deprecated and will likely be removed in a future release
If you can't figure this out, the reason I switched was because the new launcher said that it had a problem copying the files and it gave an error code 5. It also said "Could not locate Java runtime". I have Googled both, and found nothing.
