Alright so when I open Minecraft I have no volume and when I check my volume mixer it doesn't show up there. I've tried the thing where you put on and take off a resource pack and that diddnt work. In the log it says something about SoundSystem not being able to start and that it switched to silent mode. I'll paste the log here, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I've experienced plenty of issues with Minecraft sound myself. Does a different version of the game work with sound? Also be sure to check you have the correct sound output device set as the default in Windows. To do this, right click the volume icon > click playback devices. A good way to see if the correct one is selected is to right click whichever is set as default and click "Test". If you hear sound, it's probably set correctly. If you haven't already, rebooting the computer might help as well.

Hey, thanks for the reply, I have my default device set properly and I have no sound in any other versions of Minecraft. I have tried re-installing 1.12 and still have no volume. Every thing else on my computer works fine when it comes to sound. It's only Minecraft that has the sound issue an I think it has something to do with the "Starting SoundSystem" error I keep getting that I've provided in the log above.
Try configuring your default device for stereo sound if it isn't already, I have heard it can cause problems sometimes if it's set to surround mode. If you don't know how, just right click the default sound device and click configure speakers, and you can change surround settings there. If it's already in stereo, you could try changing it from stereo to surround, then back to stereo again to see if that fixes anything, these issues can be really strange sometimes.

It was on surround and I changed it to stereo and that fixed it somehow haha. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it!
