This is embarrassing. I'm trying to learn how to use a server and keep finding myself in odd situations.
I was just copying and pasting builds and found my self stuck in a wall, or something and can't get out.
I teleported to a map to get a copy of build and upon spawning I instantly died from suffocation.
I know there has to be a super easy solution, I just need to get myself so I can break out of the blocks if I have to and then I can change the spawn point in that map to a safe location. Right now, I can't do anything cause it doesn't take hearts away slowly. It's just instant death.
I tried messing around with the player .dat file and changing my X Y Z coords, and that doesn't seem to be working. I tired to just delete the world and that didn't work either.
I'm trying to figure out how to do this from the console, or editing files, cause logging in won't do any good and I'm the only one working on my server, so that makes it more difficult.
I'm open to any suggestions.
Oh yeah, I should add then every time I tp to a map, it resets my gamemode to survival and I have to switch it manually. So if I spawned in creative I might be able to get out fine.
Update:
Okay. I sort of figured it out, in a sloppy way. I tired again with deleting the world and then I took an extra step this time to edit the multivere worlds.yml file to manually delete the world information from there. I rebooted the server and after one death again and respawn, I fell in to another map. Multiverse tped me to a random map, since the world I was in no longer existed. So now I'm free. I think what I have to do now is reupload that map from my computer and import it again, but this time pick a safer spot to set the spawn.
However, ... I know there's an easier way. I've seen it done when there was someone else to help me with my server, they set my spawn to a new location when I was logged out and when I logged back in, I was in new place.
So I'm still open to suggestions for easier ways to do that next time that happens, instead of having to delete the world.
So I found it happened again on a different map, after some more research I finally found out what it was, of all things. It was the world border that was resized recently to be smaller than previous at it's maximum size. I was well outside of those bounties. After expanding the border, I was not suffocating anymore. So I can say that was the cause of that weird problem and glad I can get back to working on my server again.
