Hello, I just got a new computer and this problem was bugging me for a while now. Whenever I place a sign facing South or North (or diagonally) with coloring on the letters, the colors become faded, displaying different colors. you could see an example of this in the screenshots provided. I've tried using Vanilla, Optifine, changing Smooth Lightning settings, Brightness, Gamma settings, and multiple Minecraft versions (1.8 - 1.12), nothing worked. This occurs both in Singleplayer creating colored signs using command blocks, locally hosted servers, and multiplayer servers using a plugin like Essentials. The colors look fine on my old laptop, so I know this is definitely a client issue and might have to do with my hardware. I'll greatly appreciate it if any of you could help me, thanks!
Computer Specs:
Graphics Card: GTX 1060 3GB (Dedicated)
Processor: i7-7700k
RAM: 16GB DDR4 (Didn't try changing RAM amounts in the launcher yet)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
Java: 1.8 Update 131
I also found similar instances of this occurrence on the offical Minecraft bug tracker. Obviously, signs aren't supposed to change colors when facing different directions, but Grum stated that this is intended to occur in Minecraft when responding to the bug reports.
When looking through the occurrences above, I noticed every user was using a GTX Graphics card, not sure if that's a coincidence or the cause of the problem. I also wasn't sure where I should post this thread, since it occurs in Singplayer, on services, and in modified and unmodified clients. Sorry if I posted it in the wrong place =/
