i have a laptop, and it used to get a steady 60 fps on minecraft, with a high quality texture pack. one day my computer froze, restarted and lost everything on it. i re-downloaded minecraft, java 64, but it is still so laggy. it is kinda strange, i think, because ill get 60 fps, but every 3 seconds or so, ill drop down to 1 fps. im basically getting lag spikes every 3 secconds, and have no idea how to fix them. at first i thought my computer just needs to get used to running minecraft again, but nope, it has been 3 weeks. any suggestions?
i tried downloading optifine, made everything to it went fastest, but i think that is a solution to a different problem, i dont have constant lag, i have individual lag spikes, which i dont think optifine can fix...
ok, i read the question wrong, sorry, i really never did that in the first place, before my computer reset, i just had to download java 64, and minecraft then it worked fine, ill try your suggestion tho thanks:)

Post a screenshot with F3 enabled and your JVM arguments.

Optifine might help
