Hey everyone, so about a year and a half ago I bought my Alienware laptop for performance and portability. But I'd finally like to address some issues I've been having. First off, let me give you the specs.
System Specs:
Model - Alienware 17 R3
CPU - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz
RAM - 16.0 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
GPU - GTX 970m
Display - 4k 60hz
Storage - 1TB hardrive with 106 GB Operating system drive
Regular Minecraft runs at around 140-160 FPS, even If I change the settings. I also made sure I was using my 970m and not the Intel built in graphics. I'm not complaining, but on my old PC with low settings I would run 223-240 FPS. Also, I attempted to run shaders on my Alienware (thinking that it could) and my game just crashes or has extremely low fps like 1-5. I tried changing my screen resolution to 1080p and that just lowers my FPS for some reason and I can't figure out why my FPS won't go higher.
The strange thing is, when I put Minecraft in windowed mode and make it a small box in the center of the screen my fps will go fairly high around 250-275 but even that doesn't sound right with these specs. Is there any valid explanation? Please Help!
