I have the Java version of Minecraft since last year. It used to run relatively smoothly, reaching +-60 fps every time, but since the release of 1.12, it now runs at maximum 2 fps everywhere! Not just when using 1.12, but in every version! Singleplayer, multiplayer, menus, with or without resource packs or mods (which I don't have any), everything just lags horribly.
Also, I have the Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft, and it runs as smoothly as ever.
What I tried to do:
Restart Minecraft
Restart the computer
Reinstall Minecraft
Update Java
Remove unnecessary programs
Search help on the Minecraft Forums
Search help on Planet Minecraft
Results: nothing
There is also a problem where I can't login to my Minecraft account in minecraft.net so I can't switch skins. When I click "login" it just redirects me to the homepage...
System specs:
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (10.0.15063)
Hewlett-Packard (HP) 14 Laptop PC
Proccessor: Intel Core i3-4005U CPU @ 1.70GHz, 1701 Mhz, 2 Cores, 4 Processors
RAM: 4 GB
Java Version: Java 8 update 131
Go into video settings and make sure that the maximum FPS is not set to something really low. And bumping isn't allowed here.
Everything is on minimum. FPS is not set to something low (can't tell you exactly). I tried turning VSync off, too. Doesn't work, and I can run Win10 edition on maximum and everything works fine...
Having said that, if it used to work and suddenly stopped without you making any other changes, I would suspect malware since you are on windows. Do a scan with an antivirus like Windows Defender or whatever you use.

Nope. Scanned with Malwarebytes and didn't find anything. I think I will just stop trying, but thank you for helping.
Does the Windows 10 version of Minecraft have different system requirements? It runs fine on this same laptop.
Ok, so this time I actually got Optifine to work, and it now works fine (45-60 fps, some jittering), so this topic is closed. Except I lost my main account, so I can't close it. So just... don't reply. I don't need it anymore.

OP: Follow the instructions here: http://hopper.minecraft.net/help/pixel-format-not-accelerated/support/
My bad.
Try turning VSync OFF, as it may be a refresh error.

Bumping this again.
You know we are still waiting for that dxdiag.
Can I revive this topic?
