This should explain everything. I'd rather not forego the mod, but any solution is appreciated nonetheless. Feel free to ask me for additional info if needed!
EDIT: My friend downloaded this mod for a Minecraft 1.12 server he's hosting for us and our friends without difficulty. It just doesn't work for me for some reason.
SOLVED: My friend and I just downloaded different forge files, lol.
Biomes o Plenty is in Beta stage for 1.12 and may not work. Wait until its fully released for 1.12
My friend downloaded it just fine, but it crashed for me. He is hosting a server complete with some forge mods for us and our friends successfully. I downloaded that same .jar file from the source he used, too. I'll update my first post with this background info promptly.

Yep I forgot to quote, don't mind me lol.My friend downloaded it just fine, but it crashed for me. He is hosting a server complete with some forge mods for us and our friends successfully. I downloaded that same .jar file from the source he used, too. I'll update my first post with this background info promptly.
make sure you are using the same version of forge as they are and the exact same mods
EDIT: Cause IS Biomes o Plenty and if it still does not work remove it
It turns out that we downloaded different forge files. Now the mod works! Thank you so much!
The game crashed when I was using Biomes O Plenty for 1.7.10 even though my Forge is 1.7.10.
