A timed out exception is always caused by a connection issue. Internet speed is usually the main cause, but there could be a few other reasons. How fast and consistent is your internet speed? Throughout the week, do a few speed tests at different times to check for consistency in the speed and let me know. Also, change your host file back to the way it was. Where you receiving the error: "io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information:" before changing the host file, or were you getting: "java.net.UnknownHostException: session.minecraft.net"?
I dunno, I was told to add that... it works for some people
Yeah, the thing is, that problem (and the solutions) is really old, and I though I had been fixed a long time ago.
I will put new one daily cause' I can...
When fixing the host file I gets just "java.net.UnknownHostException: session.minecraft.net: Connection timed out: no further information:"
:^[
Well never mind the speed issue lol. As long as your internet speed doesn't drop below 2-4Mbps, you won't have a problem at all. I would try completely uninstalling Minecraft then download the new launcher and reinstall. Before you uninstall, hold down the windows key and tap "r". In the run box type "%appdata%" and move the file ".Minecraft" onto your desktop. After re-installation, you will want to delete the new one Minecaft will make, and replace it with the one on your desktop.
If that doesn't work, try flushing your DNS by opening command promt and running "ipconfig flushdns" and restart the computer.

Also, have you tried joining different servers?

MInecraft used to use the host file for storing the Minecraft.net auth service ip and server ip's and such, not anymore though.
