Ok, been playing a while. roommate made our own server since our last crash on PS4 a file got corrupted and do not trust the PS4 any more.
So been a few weeks since played last was waiting for the new update 1.12.
So it look good, but our entire nether is gone. All three portals we had everything. I mean the portals are there but all building resources, bridge etc are all gone, its a clean slate.
Any way to get it back from a previous save, or is wiping out the nether part of the new update.
Hi, I did mention our own server, did mention not playing on the ps4 anymore.
Yeah.. I missed the "roomate made our own server...." and fixated on "... our last crash on PS4...". But after that, you didn't specify the object of your next paragraph sentence.. Anyway.... Hope that helped.
Well, we had a 'firestorm' at one of our members' Woodland Mansions. I had just taken a back-up the night before, so was able to repair the damage by overwriting the region file for those chunks. Not the same as replacing the entire folder, of course. Also, we use the default launcher for our world, not spigot or CB; I'm pretty sure they modify the DIM folders (or at the least, use them differently) so the alternate dimensions can run in isolated server processes (instead of the default launcher running all 3 under one process).
So.. if you're using the default launcher, you should be able to copy the region files at the least.

Thanks all for good answers...
You mention PS4, but are unclear in your inquiry if you're referring to a PC instance of the map or PS4....
If PC, you should be able to extract the "DIM1" folder from a previous back-up and drop it into your current world.

So looking into what you said about the DIM1 folder...

Thanks for trying to help.
With replacing the DMI-1 which is in the nether folder nope,
We do have a full archive that works but as soon as we upgrade , poof the nether is gone.
All we did is replace the DMI-1 folder form June 2nd 2017 the last time we played.
Do we need to replace more files?
thanks again for trying..
Well replacing the DMI-1 folder did not help.
does any one else have any ideas how to get back our nether world from a archive into 1.12. was made in 1.11.?
And why does the devs program things like this.
