I've seen a couple similar threads on here, so I hope I'm not being too redundant by starting a new one, but none of them (or their solutions) seemed to match up well with my problem.

Upon hitting the play button, the launcher tries to download 1.12.jar, and as soon as it is finished, I receive the following error:

I have seen that similar issues can be caused by ByteFence. I have checked, and do /not/ have ByteFence installed. I looked for any other PUPs, but aside from Bonjour (which I uninstalled), nothing jumped out at me.

I checked the permissions on the file 1.12.jar, and it says that all accounts on my computer have complete access to the file.

I hadn't checked it, but I just ran through the list and I don't have any of those installed.
