Hello. Sorry if it is not the right place to ask. I need some help and don't know any better place.
I'm trying to play the game again (couple of years I buyed the game and play an older version) in my place where I have no internet connection. Then I downloaded the launcher from minecraft.net and it downladed the game just fine, so copy that files in USB Stick and put them in the other PC, but the new launcher don't let me start the game if I don't login and it didn't let me login if I don't have internet connection. How can I start the game?
The "beta" launcher has been released long ago and its the current one :P, also, that .deb its for debian/ubuntu, not linux. For linux you would have to link to source or to all the different packages for different distributions(like the AUR package)

Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: failed to create a child event loop
Plus: Tested it on official launcher too. Same as Beta (maybe like UrielSalis said, is the same launcher now).

Run the program, choose "I accept", then "Do a scan and save a log file". After a while a text file will open. Copy everything, put the log on http://paste.ubuntu.com and give us the link.

I don't think that help in anyway. I tried a launcher called Shiginima and it worked perfectly. I didn't like the solution because it is not official... but it is a solution at the end.
So, if there is a better OFFICIAL way of playing offline I glad to know.
Never had installed McAfee in this PC, I'm using Nod32 and Comodo Firewall (no blocked JAVA incoming or outgoing showed in the logs anyway).

Thats a unofficial cracked launcher which is ILLEGAL. Please follow those instructions

Which are "those" instructions? Giving details of the software installed on my PC? what for? There is something in the official launcher that doesn't let me play offline, maybe some restriction removed in the unofficial launcher I mention. Let me know a way to play offline with the official launcher and I do it for sure, that's why I buy the game! to avoid trouble, but seems like I have it anyways

That error is caused by the launcher being blocked by accessing Mojang servers by some program installed in your pc, something that cracked launcher has removed so people without a account can play(thus illegal)
Run that program, we can figure out what it is, make it download thegame fine and then you will be able to play offline

It is working now. I had to give the PC internet to login at least once. There is something that need internet connection for the first time even if you want to play it offline. Thanks for your time.

Try Magic Launcher.
