So, i've been having trouble logging in when I use the 1.12 version. When I log in with 1.11.2 it works fine. When I click play, it just redirects me to the game output. The output says:

Before you ask, i've tried uninstalling minecraft and reinstalling it. I've reset my mojang password too. Nothing worked.

One last thing, I play on my mac. So I would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me what is happening.

I installed it and it still didn't work.

I dont have the required version of mac (I have 10.7.5), and I dont want to update it. Any other alternatives?

Java 8 is required to play 1.12.

In the launcher, when you edit the profile it lets you select what version of java you want to use

It does say Java Settings (Advanced) but below it, it says Executable, and JVN Arguments, which I do not know what they are. I have the required version of Java compatible with 1.12, (Java 8)

There it says you are using Java 6, enable the checkbox and change it

Hey There! I had the same problem too the solution is to uncheck the box called "Executable" and replace it with this:

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java

That should Work!
