Hi there, I just purchased and downloaded the PC version for my son. He's been playing and all is good until this morning. He told me the screen buttons got really small and the colors are off and heavily pixeled.
Can anyone help me figure out what to do?
I have already tried the uninstall and reinstall twice now. :/
Hello there! Let me first give you the good news rather than the bad news. The good news is that I think I know (with 90% certainty) why the buttons are really small. Just go into options, video settings, and change GUI Scale to a larger size. The other 10% of me questions as to why the GUI scale didn't revert back to normal when you reinstalled, but I'm fairly certain that that is the problem.
Now the bad news. At first, I thought the blurry pixelated effect was simply another setting you could change, which would be shaders. But then I remembered that shaders were removed in version 1.9, and since you are playing version 1.11, that can't possibly be the problem. So, since it's not that, I can only think of three other things it might be:
1. Your computer's graphics card is malfunctioning.
2. You installed a bootleg version of Minecraft accidentally.
3. The files got corrupted when downloading Minecraft, and you did not reinstall it correctly.
Unfortunately I cannot help with the first two issues (I doubt it's the second one anyway), but I can give you tips on the proper way to uninstall and reinstall Minecraft. Open the file explorer, or documents, on your computer and search for "%appdata%" without the quotations. In that folder will be a folder called ".minecraft" If you don't care about any worlds you have already made, just delete the file, go back on the minecraft.net website, and install the correct version of Minecraft for your computer. If you do want to try to save your worlds, open up the ".minecraft" folder and copy the folder called "saves" onto your desktop. Simply put it back where you found it after you reinstall Minecraft.
Pardon me but if you turned on any weird "magic" options try messing with them more, I know one of them is a 3D option!! I am no professional but if that doesn't work you can always try reinstalling the game. Good luck!

I hope you can find a resolution to your problem!
Thank you! I followed your steps and fixed the buttons.
How do I know if the graphics card is going out? Is there a way to tell easily? Nothing else has a problem on my computer, just this game...
Also, following your other directions to uninstall and reinstall, I cannot find that folder of .minecraft But I'll keep looking.

Never mind, I googled it! I don't think it's my graphics card, but I'm running an update.
I'll continue to see if I downloaded it incorrectly. Although it was working fine yesterday. So strange.
Thank you so much for your help though!
rkpkid1997 - THANK YOU!!! The buttons were fixed!
ballpython - THANK YOU!!! The 3D mode was turned on. Now it's OFF!
All is fixed now - Thanks!! Have a great weekend!
Huh, I didn't even know there was a 3D mode.
I'm glad your problem was resolved though!
