If you're not willing to update your Graphics card, a lot of the time there's nothing you can do about laggy shaders other then change your render settings.
A method you can try is navigating into Task-Manager>More details>Details, scroll down until you see 'javaw.exe'(that's your Minecraft client) then right click it and select the priority to Realtime/High, what this does is it sets a higher priority to your client so your computer can feed it more resources.
Edit: You can also allow your Minecraft more RAM. navigate into your Launcher>Launch options and toggle 'Advanced settings' on. Proceed to open [Your Client] and toggle JVM arguments, you will then notice that the bar next to it is white and you are able to edit it. Depending on how much space is on your computer, change the amount of RAM.
If your computer has under 5 GB's of space I would recommend this setting here, even though it is a bit generorus: -Xmx3G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn290M
unn please anybody replying? i need help i want the shaders to work with as little lag as possible its a nice mod but fps is horrible i already tried on pc doesnt work
If you are having performance issues, then you need to upgrade your hardware. But given you have a Mac, your options are non-existant. You need to remove the shaders or buy a new laptop. And by "new", I mean one with better hardware, not just whatever $300 craptop you find at walmart.
If you want better visuals, you need better hardware. Simple as that.

you can get different Shader until you get the one that doesn't have a huge impact on your FPS. in this case, I used Sildur's basic shader, it not pretty as the shader you want but it still pretty and it doesn't impact your shader as hard.
when i started playihn with shaders my fps was like 3ish or 7 even with the lowest graphics but seems to go back up when i remove the shaders
how do i up the fps all those youtube vids are stupid doesnt work
I CANT PLAY MINECRAFT WITH DIS FPS
really shaders is a nice mod
What does your computer hardware look like? Shaders are very tolling on performance.

Ohh, you're on a MAC...
in that case, its gonna be a bit hard for me to help you, I'm not great with Macintosh.

umm like mac OSX mini crap?
i use the sildurs shader pack but the core is different
There won't be another solution. What are your hardware specifications of your Mac, which often you cannot upgrade any parts in.
