Have you tried turning on Vsync? 150 FPS could be too much for your screen, which could make it look choppy, like a cutting effect. I am no professional, but I had the same issue with my monitor and have a 970 (60 Hz monitor meanwhile the game is off in looneyville running at 1000 FPS...)
I just got back into minecraft I get around 150 fps and all but the game still feels choppy, almost as if I barely have 60 fps.
All my drivers and stuff are up-to-date.
I have a gtx 960m and my processor is an i7-6700HQ
(I have no allocated ram, same problem still persists even if I add more)
Have you checked your refresh rate? If your screen is set to 30 hertz somehow, that would explain why.
No I haven't, i'll check now.
It's set at it's highest, I'm still having this problem and it sucks to know that someone else's 40 frames run better than my 100.
What's your memory usage at when you play.
It's at 1, the lag happens even if I allocate 4
Could you force a crash and paste the crash report? (F3+C 10 seconds in game)

Moderatorpost a screenshot of the F3 screen in minecraft
This is a screenshot of my F3 screen, I have no idea where to get the crash report on the new launcher :C
I didn't mean how much you allocated. I meant how much was the game actually using at any given time.
ah my bad, by memory usage do you mean how much is being used in task manager?
I'm referring to the F3 screen. It should be up in the top right corner.
oh, well it's up there for you to look at yourself, 21% (215/1011 mb)

Will buying a monitor and connecting my laptop to it via hdmi fix it?
Probably not, as most monitors run at 60hz (the same as your laptop's monitor) Plus, the ones that run at 120,144, and 240hz are extremely expensive.
