I am trying to allocate more memory to mc. I have all the right specs and I've changed the avm arguments but when I'm in game and I hit the f3, the readout says I only have 243mb allocated. I have updated java.
He's running a 64 bit laptop with 8Gb of memory as shown my the below image.
JSCallahan posted screenshots of his ingame F3 display and it definitely shows 243MB with 99% used.
I had him do all I could think of the get -Xmx2G to be obeyed by Java and Minecraft.
He updated to the latest 64 bit Java version.
Restarted Windows 7 several times also.

If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

Are you sure it says 243 allocated and not 243 being used?
Did you allocate it correctly? For example, to allocate 4 GB of RAM, you'd put in -Xmx4G -Xms4G or -Xmx4096M -Xms4096M

JVM arguments: -Xmx2G -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+CMSIncrementalMode -XX:-UseAdaptiveSizePolicy -Xmn128M
He tried, on my suggestion, tried using both the new and old MC launcher to no avail.
The screenshot is the last one he uploaded after we tried all I knew to try.
