This last week I've started having trouble with sudden and extreme lag that doesn't stop. If I am below ground it doesn't usually happen ... if I go above ground it itends to happen immediately. Restarting the game doesn't help. When I hit escape it takes a long time for the pause screen to come up as well.
I use optifine and I have tried going from optifine 1.11.2 B7 to B8 .... that didn't help. I've also noticed that the lag spikes don't seem to happen if I go from Optifine to regular MC 1.11.2 ... HOWEVER, without optifine my game doesn't rune very smoothy.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix? This has only happened the last few days. Thanks!!
