Is there any way I can clone this world and reload it as a new world?
I can "copy" it on the Minecraft titlescreen but that copies the world as it was when I initially started the game, not as it is currently.
Copy it from within the world loading thing, then after you've run the copy, close Minecraft and open the world in MCEdit. Then press Ctrl + A to select the whole world, and click on repopulate. This will essentially repopulate the chunks and may retrogen magma blocks into the Nether (if you selected blocks while in the Nether dimension).

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

You do not need to make a new world - you only need to explore new areas which were not generated before.
Also, I would not advise repopulating chunks since it can double up pretty much everything (well, this can be good if you want a lot of glowstone and quartz. In theory repopulated chunks should be identical but some features require certain conditions to generate and changes in them affect the RNG sequence for features added later on; in fact, even the direction you explore in can have an effect) and in the case of structures could have unintended effects (for example, structures that contain chests and spawners will not regenerate them after overwriting the old ones unless you delete their associated file in the data folder). If you have not built anything in the Nether you can also just delete the DIM-1 folder within the save, which contains the files for the Nether (DIM1 contains the End, which can also be deleted to get the new End, although it is not necessary as respawning the dragon will regenerate the obsidian pillars as they would be since 1.9, and the outer End islands start 1000 blocks away).
About the only time this was true was when upgrading from 1.1 to 1.2, which had a special hidden world type which omitted jungle biomes so older worlds continued to generate the same way (this was easy to do since all they did was add jungles to a list of biomes; this worked up until 1.6.4), and even then you could edit level.dat to get the new world generation, and possibly Customized worlds (if you made a world before 1.11 it might not have mansions since the settings for them were not added until then, unless missing settings are automatically added when updating. Ordinary worlds will however have them in Roofed Forests generated since then; ocean monuments can generate in existing chunks, even in non-ocean biomes in worlds created before 1.7 if an ocean exists there since then).
You can also craft magma blocks out of 4 magma cream (2x2) so it is possible to obtain it even without generating new terrain, if a bit slow due to the rarity of magma cubes (likewise, you can craft the 1.8 stones with various combinations of cobblestone and quartz).
Thanks for the advice. Like you suggested, traveling to previously unloaded territory yielded magma blocks. I now have all the magma blocks I desire!
Also, oddly enough, when I was originally trying to repopulate the chunk with MCEdit I noticed you can add items to your inventory. However, magma block was not an option to add. Not sure why that is.
Anyways, thanks for the help!

I have a world that I started about 3-4 years ago, but it is currently updated to version 1.11.2. When in the nether, there are no magma blocks.
However, if I copy the world and go to the nether, there are magma blocks.
Is this an issue of the original game being created before magma blocks were around?
Thanks!
you will need a new world for it to generate the new blocks

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
