Installation Process
Installed Minecraft.
Installed Forge.
Installed Liteloader.
Extracted Optifine JAR.
Placed Optifine JAR and mods in %appdata%/Roaming/.minecraft/mods folder.
Just tried removing Optifine and leaving all the other mods based on your advice and loaded no worries. It WOULD be that now wouldn't it? The ONE thing I didn't do, and one of the core mods I liked (Shaders). xD How typical.
I'd like to downgrade Forge, but InventoryTweaks needs a later version than the recommended so I needed to use my current, latest one.
Thanks so much for your reply, I'll make do for now.
Hey all, having some problems jumping back into Minecraft after a few years hiatus.
Situation
Clean install of Java (Even though I read that Minecraft now includes its own copy, figured I might as well).
Clean install of Minecraft.
Minecraft is still using its own bundled copy of Java.
Loading into the start menu is fine, messing around with the options is fine.
Actually trying to get into a world causes a crash.
Creating a new world causes a crash.
In all instances, crash reports note a Ticking Block Entity.

Have tried removing all mods except Optifine, same error. Had no problems playing on a completely clean, unmodified client. Any help?
Apparently it's an issue with the latest forge version and optifine. Either downgrade forge, or wait for one of them to fix it.
I made my own shader pack, by the way.

Why not also use an earlier version of inventory tweaks then?

I popped over to MultiMC and installed a version of Forge that's one version earlier than latest. So that works. xD
This has now been fixed in optifine preview B9: http://optifine.net/downloads (click on preview versions at the top).
I made my own shader pack, by the way.
Thanks for the update! Will get on it.
