When I try to launch minecraft versions around 1.2 and a bit after that I have been receiving errors like this upon it crashing.

My java version is up to date, so are my drivers and my OS. If someone could assist me in deciphering this crash report that would be fantastic.

Delete options.txt from .minecraft and try again.
