Hi! This week I spent 3 full days (when I wasn't working) gathering and testing me and my group of friends mods for our own server. We got the server running on my friends PC and is running fantastic... For everyone but me. There are a total of 89 mods on the server and everyone says that they get 90+ fps and it is very smooth gameplay while I can rarely reach 50. We all have optifine running on our games and we all pretty much have the same settings. I looked at the amount of ram my game was actually using [around 2500mb during gameplay], and allocated 4gb, ran it and it was still leggy. Then I even assigned 4 cores to it through the GC JVM argument and it still didn't change a thing... I am running on a 64 bit system and I even made sure that my java was up to date (and running 64 bit) and my friend who gets 140 fps consistently on the server said that he uses the same java version as me. I also updated my GPU drivers today and there was no difference.
You know what's strange? The CPU is only using 17% at 3.25 gigs of memory for modded minecraft while playing... But when I play vanilla, it uses 60%+. Any input on that? Anyway to make my game use more CPU?
OK! I have figured it out!!!! There was an animation setting called 'Terrain Animated' and once I turned it off, my game went to BUTTER SMOOTH game play. If anyone has this related problem, go to particles and try to turn all off and sift through all the options to see what it is. Thanks for all the help too guys!

It is using exactly what it needs. There is no "making it use more CPU". Less load on the CPU is BETTER. You don't want a high CPU usage.
Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
Alpha 1.0.4
Well I'm just really frustrated... I really want to have atleast decent frames to play on
