Recently Minecraft would not respond after a couple of seconds in the game. This has caused quite a frustration however I have been able to solve the issue through several methods and thought i should share.
1. Check your Java. This may seem basic but make sure you have the most up to date java. Also, make sure you are running the correct "Java Bit" (32 or 64). To check which one you need open up your system diagrams. To so so, simply type "about" in the search bar at the bottom left for windows 10. For other windows should be something similar along the lines "about system". Look at "System type" and it will say which bit operating system your device runs. Attempt to run Minecraft, if it works great! If not don't worry continue with the steps.
2. Once the correct Java is installed and Minecraft is still not working. Try uninstalling the programs completely. To do so, in the bottom left corner search type "Control Panel". It should bring up something as see in the picture "Control Panel". Go to "programs" on the bottom left and click uninstall programs. Look for Minecraft throughout the files, right click it and click uninstall. This will remove the program from your computer. Afterwards go back to the Minecraft website and reinstall Minecraft with the appropriate launcher (ex: windows). Attempt to launch Minecraft and see if this has corrected the issue. If not there are more steps.
Note: I did this however I do not know if this made any difference. So I would recommend doing this as a last resort as it completely erases all settings, profiles, etc of Minecraft. Go to the bottom left once again and search "%appdata%. Once there, look for the folder Minecraft. Drag it into the recycling bin and empty the bin completely. I had roughly 3000+ files so it is possible that one of these were corrupting it.
3. You may not have enough ram allocated to Minecraft. Open up the new Minecraft launcher. Go to "Launch Options" and on the top right click advanced settings. Click on the desired profile. Look for "JVM arguments" and change the first line or code from "-Xmx1G" to the desired amount of ram allocated to mincraft "-Xmx#G". Look at the pic "JVM" for reference as I have it "-Xmx2G". Attempt to run your game and see if it fixes the issue. To determine if more ram is being allocated, while in game push "F3" and look at the top right for memory. If it does not resemble your imputed gigs it is not working (For example -Xmx1G = 1024M in game). If it is, that should resolve the issue. If not, you will need the change the cap on ram allocated for Java in the next step.
4.To allocate more ram for Java which will allow to increase the ram, open up control panel by typing it in the bottom left for search (Windows 10). Once again look at the "Control Panel" pic for reference. Click on "System and Security" on the top left. Look for "System" which can be the 3rd option down and click on it. On the left side look for "Advanced System settings" and click on it. Look at the pic "System" for reference. Look at the bottom right for "Environmental variables" and click on it. In the 2nd box down look for "_JAVA_OPTIONS" and double click it. In "Variable Values" change the number to the desired result and click okay. Run Minecraft and this should resolve the issue.
I followed and tried that and it did not work. Tried updating all drivers and did not work. Simply saying what I did to get it working again. Downloading the alternative launcher is not a solution as getting past the loading screen is not the issue. please read what I have written as it is in game that causes problems.
Also, 1 is not useless as while it runs on its own version of Java it also relies on programs installed on the computer. Looking at 2 as I have said in my "Note" this will erase the folder but I recommend backing up data if something is of importance because this erases it completely. The step 3 and 4 are valid as they have worked and I have been playing with no issues. So before you start saying what works or does not I recommend attempting them and properly linking appropriate information to the material, not launcher issues.
Also, the alternate launcher, if it doesnt fix it, generates a log that can tell us what to do to actually fix it, so adding more RAM is not a blanket fix(And it makes it worse in most cases)

You can generate logs on the current launcher as well. The issue with this problem is that logs do not report the crash as the game does not close unless forcefully done. Hence, no crash reports can be found. Adding more rm will eliminate the stutter one may experience from reaching 100% memory every couple of seconds. When downloading the new minecraft/java it capped it at 256M which was no where near enough to maintain freezes. This is why increasing it helped to 2G.

3 and 4 are not valid and might cause even more issues
2 doesnt clear the .minecraft folder, just the java runtime that the launcher redownloads on launch
1 is useless as the launcher uses its own version of java
The fixes are in the bug report made for it, https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCL-6022

If you say they work, update the ticket.

The logs in the current launcher might not save in this crash, while they are saved while being written in the old one
And as I said, adding more memory might have fixed your specific issue unrelated to the launcher freezing, its not a blanket fix for all issues
