This is the error I keep getting. I've tried uninstalling multiple times, I've tried updating Java, I've tried everything I could think of (including looking for that Byte-something or another program after doing some research), but to no avail on this computer. Used to play Minecraft 1.9 a few months ago (when 1.10 was just released I think was the last time I could play), but that was on a different computer that doesn't work anymore.

That's the program I looked to see if I had it installed but I don't. Is there any other possibilities? I can provide a screenshot of my program list if you'd like to see if there's anything that could cause problems.

I also got an error (found as an attachment), but it worked so I'm not sure what's going on with this computer.

Did it and tried to open Minecraft again to no avail :/

Didn't at the time, but just did and still not downloading the file(s). Should I attempt to uninstall minecraft, reinstall it and see if that works?

You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory, and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck!

I thought it was going to work.. It got further this time.. but the error message still popped up
