Hi miners! Apparently, since the recipe book first came out, looking all pretty on the left side of the crafting grid (I have seen pictures!) I have never had the book in my game. It is simply missing. I have purged my PC of Minecraft and reinstalled the game, but no book. I'm currently playing on latest snapshot, multiplayer, but have tried getting the book to show in both single and multiplayer, latest release and latest snapshot, to no avail. Although this book is not critical for playing, it would still be nice to have, as it makes life a whole lot easier (I have heard), so... does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get the recipe book to show?
I'm using the latest snapshot. I get constant messages to: "check your recipe book" when obtaining new items or crafting something new, so in theory the book should be there.

The recipe book is not an item. If you are running latest snapshot, next to the off hand slot there should be a new button with a green book. Clicking it opens a new menu to the left with recipes. It's more of a menu that every player gets.

I am aware of this. The green book, the entire menu is missing. There is simply nothing there for me to click.
Maybe its a bug in the newest snapshot, try a previous one?

Done that too. Tried it in maybe 2-3 versions. My friends, who are on the same snapshots, have the book. It seems to be just me having this issue.

Moderatorreport the bug/issue to Mojang via their bug tracker, it maybe a bug you found, thats why they release snapshots, for bug testing
Are you using the vanilla texture pack? If you mouse over or click on the general area where the book should be, does it do anything?
