Hey guys, So I have been playing minecraft for about 5 years now and I have been playing the same world ever since... which is apparently mind boggling to most. I have been wanting to install mods in my world but everytime I try to open it with forge my inventory is gone and every chest is empty, and with 5 years of collecting that just simply is not going to cut it. Luckily I keep backups of my game so no harm no foul but I want to know If there is any way I could open my world in forge without losing my inventory. I have been searching the internet and I have not found a single person that seems to share this issue

Are you still playing on the same minecraft version? This is an effect that happens if you play on a previous version for some versions.

well if you changed versions your bet is to give yourself the items in creative
