Nine thousandth dude with this issue here, but maybe the nine thousandth solution to this issue will be the one that works for me. I've spent the last hour going through old forum posts and I've tried everything I've come across short of contacting questionable people to assist me through questionable means.
I merged my account earlier today and it all went fine for a bit. Logged in/out of minecraft.net twice to make sure I had the right credentials once I got going, all fine. Fired up the Minecraft launcher (fresh install), put those same credentials in, and...invalid username or password. Tried logging out of minecraft.net and logging back in, and suddenly my credentials don't work. So I reset my password, and using the correct email address tried the new password. No dice. Reset again, went for a smoke to give it some time, came back and tried again. Still no dice.
I am one hundred percent certain that everything I am typing in for my credentials is correct. This is not an error on my end, at least as far as having the correct information is concerned. My firewall isn't the issue, as I was able to log into Technic launcher fine before merging my account, and installed vanilla Minecraft to see if I could skirt the problem that way (and after checking my firewall settings, it is definitely not the problem).
I'm at my wit's end trying to get this sorted, and any help anybody could give me would be greatly appreciated.
After 3 incorrect login attempts, a lockout is placed automatically by Mojang's systems on your network to protect accounts against brute force attacks to gain access.
This lockout is automatic, lasts for 1 hour, and cannot be overridden. Wait 1 hour, don't log in at all (to *any* account). Then reset your password using https://account.mojang.com/password -- then try again.
