Hello, I came across this Exception and when it doesn't start the installer, I went deeper and came across this exception: [.java.lang.ClassNotFoundException]
Java version: JDK 1.8.0_71 x64 | JRE 1.8.0_101x64 | JRE 1.8.0_121 x32 ( I tried to add x32 JRE to see if this work but it didn't)
I am able to program Java and launch the code without running into exceptions.
I believe this is the cause on installer side.
New piece of clue: it work with optifine installer but not forge.
You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory, and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck!

What version of forge are you trying to install? Also, you cant install forge and optifine at the same time(only use optifine as a forge mod by putting it in the mods folder)

You are running a unversial forge jar. If you want to install forge use the installer. Unversial jar contains forge code for both server and client side, running the jar will lunch forge server.

sorry for not posting in a long time, in the command prompt: forge-1.7.10-10.13.4.1614-1.7.10-universal.jar ( in another word, 1.7.10)
I was ( used to, don't get the wrong idea) able to install Optifine with forge installed and another way around.
