Hey everyone whats up? I finally took the plunge and got this a few days ago. I have seen that some have had issues
with the new launcher or past update or whatever it as, as I'm new and only played the xbox version/s so not sure what the number relates to, but it is not working on my windows 7 machine. The same machine dual boots fedora 20 in which it works fine, and I have an os x yosemite/ubuntu/windows 10 machine which seem to work fine as well. I would really like to get the windows 7 machine working as that ones for the kids. It stays stuck on the "preparing" screen. I have also got past that but stuck on the Mojang screen.
I've seen where people have had issues. On this same computer I dual boot with Fedora 20 and I have no problem getting minecraft to work in Fedora 20. On the OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 system, Windows 10 and Ubuntu setups I havent had any problems at all. Not sure what it could be, but it seems to be on the Windows 7 side of things. I could only aquire one crash log which is when it gets stuck on the Mojang screen. When it gets stuck at the preparing screen it doesnt put out a log. To the best of my knowledge this is what I got from the logs. I am not totally out of the game cause as I mentioned I havent had that issue with the Windows 10, OS X or Linux end of things, it just seems to be with my windows 7 machine. Anyway help would be much appreciated. When I try to close the Mojang load screen it also says something like java se binary platform failed or something to that extent. Cant think of it off the top of my head.
Would be nice to get this working on this windows 7, but if not I'm okay for now. Just wondering if it's something specific to windows 7 or specific to my machine. As this being my first log/post I'm hoping this is okay. It's about as much info as I can get I think. If there's anything else needed or this needs to be moved please let me know. I figured what I got is the Development Console Log and the DXDiag Log so hopefully we can get this going. I didnt think it would be appropriate for an OS X, Linux, and Windows 10 log since I'm not having issues with that. Just the Windows 7 end.
Alright. Guess there's not much I can do. Not totally at a loss though, as I haven't had any issues on the Linux/ OS X and Windows 10 side. Not to mention The Pocket Edition always seems to work well, and I have the Nvidia Shield Android TV so playing the pocket edition on my tv with a controller almost feels like the xbox version/s that I've played. Thanks for the response. Guess I'll just have to wait and see whats up. Maybe the next update or two will fix that for some of us. ✌️
Hey thanks. I might have to try that. Currently just messing around on the OS X side now, but when I get home I think I'll give that a ****. Without
acytualyl doing all that I wonder if just making it an exception in the AV might make it able to run? I thought about that and even disabled it upon start up and tried all that and it still didnt work. I think I'm going to give this a try. Cant hurt anything. Thanks for the suggestion.

^^ Didn't work. The launcher didn't dissapear after I launched play as you said, and when I ended one of the MinecraftLauncher.exe in the taskbar they both ended and everything just closed. No log popped up are anything. This is kind of what I expected to happen. Now this is all done without switching over to avast, in which I think that seems like a little much to do. I dont really know if that's a required step or not. I mean changing the AV seems like
something you shouldn't have to do.
P.S Didn't try this step but I dont even think I'm getting past the first one so I didnt really bother.
TASKKILL /F /IM MinecraftLauncher.exe
hit save as and save as whatever you what but put in .cmd at the end and make sure the list is on all files, not notepad. than you can close it easier. works like a charm. I'll be making a tut.
I know cosmic I was replying to urielsalis. I did follow the steps for the new launcher about 4 times now and it's the same thing. Not working for me. I'll try to to follow the tutorial but there really aint much to it you know.
Thanks for keeping up with it. I switched to Avast to see if that would do anything as that was mentioned in the other thread.
I now get past the preparing part but it sticks on the Mojang screen. A little closer, a little closer. Not totally out cause the other platforms are giving me no trouble what so ever. Just this damn Windows 7 one. Thanks again for sticking at this.
If you are still having issues with the new launcher, I suggest you make a bug report in bugs.mojang.com in the launcher project, selecting 1.6.76 as the affected version

I've already tried numerous combinations of the old launcher/version and I still get the same thing. I guess I could keep trying.

Is there a link for your tutorial?

So a known bug eh? I did try to old launchers and it did get past the preparing part but not past the Mojang screen. Not worried though as
the other operating systems have worked good for me, even windows 10 so I'll just wait until some update hopefully remedies this.
/me tips hat
