My game crashed while connected to a LAN game with my friend. When reconnecting I appeared with no items just the original books in my inventory. My character skin is now all black.
I tried going into the save file and player data and saw 3 files there instead of 2. One was the new empty one so I copied its name and pasted it onto my original playerdata.
I now have all my inventory back but my skin is still all black and the worst part is that I have some claimed chunks and loaded chunks. I cannot touch them as the game does not recognize my ID but my ID is the same on top of my head in the game.
I also tried deleting my playerdata file and starting fresh but again I cannot touch my claimed chunks, it doesn't recognise me and my skin is still all black.
You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory, and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck!

Thanks Urielsalis for the reply, I managed to fix the problem a few hours ago.
All I did was restart the host PC with all the firewalls turned off, I then added my original player data file that I backed up when the problem first occurred and deleted the new playerdata file that was created, I then started the game and opened to LAN. Then I started my game on my PC with all the firewalls turned off as well and connected and I was back in the game with everything working properly.
That was a weird problem, if anyone else has this issue just restart everything with the firewalls off and delete the new playerdata file that was created.
On the positive when i had my inventory back but the game would not recognize me and therefore would not let me use my claimed chunks and flux points I put all my tools and weapons in a new chest. When I deleted that playerdata file and put the original file that i backed up and everything worked again I had all my tools and weapons on me, so I now have 2 of everything.
