I can only play the demo now even though I purchased the game 6 years ago and have since migrated to a mojang account. I never recieved an email stating I was refunded or anything. I already contacted Mojang but I figured I coul ask around for more immediate help.
Also sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. The other one takes me to mojang's website.
I unfortunately don't have an answer for you but if its any consolation, I'm going through the same issues right now.
To elaborate on the specifics:
I bought minecraft way back in 2011 and still have the original email to prove it. It's been a year or two since I've actually played it but I tried to do so yesterday and couldn't find the launcher. So, I attempted to login to the minecraft site to download a new launcher and found that I couldn't log in (to a migrated account). Figuring that I had simply forgotten my password, I requested a reset. Twice. And neither time received an email. I attempted to 'migrate accounts' just to make sure I really had done that, and it seems that I had.
I figured, "hey, it wouldn't allow me to create a new account with the same email, so I'll just try that to make sure I've got the right email." which I did, likely with the same password the original account had. Silly me, apparently I was allowed to create a new account with the same email, except now I can't log into whatever the original account was, and now apparently no longer own minecraft, though the account is with the same email address that bought minecraft way back in 2011. That's when I went through my emails to find my original receipt. Frustrated, I sent in an email to Mojang, but I haven't heard a reply back yet.
Trying again today, I downloaded the new launcher, and can successfully login there (it even comes up with my old minecraft original account username when I signed in with my mojang account! To me, proof that the apparent new account I made and original one are one and the same??) however I still apparently don't own minecraft and only have an option to play the demo. On the account.mojang.com/me it gives you an option to import your game, so I thought I'd give that a go, but then it just tells me that it's already been imported and I still don't have my game.
Sorry that this is really long, and probably too much information, but I figure the more information I give, the better an idea someone might have of fixing the problem. I suspect that this is really only something that can be solved by going to Mojang with purchase proof and telling them to give me my premium status back, but like you said, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask around here for immediate help. If anyone else can spare some help, that would be nice!

There's nothing immediate we can do about your account status.
