Today started as usual. My first session went alright, then on my second session I got the expected 'invalid session thing'.
Then I tried to reopen minecraft. The first time, the launcher opened perfectly fine, but minecraft failed to render for several minutes, displaying only a blank window with the crafting table on it. This was usual, so I just let it load. Then when I tried to actually click it after minimizing, it showed only the minimize/change window size/red x buttons, along with the task name.
So I restarted the launcher. This time, nothing came up. I tried several times, and nothing worked. This post is 2 hours after the first attempt. I went to the .minecraft folder and, for whatever reason, the bit for the minecraft launcher itself was gone. The logs and profiles were still in place, but not the thing that used those files.
So I used the minecraft setup wizard. I tried 3 times to repair the files, it gave the all-clear message afterwards, but it still would not work. Then I tried twice to uninstall, along with running a Malwarebytes Threat Scan. Mb came up without any results (may have been crippled by last week's PUP infection). The uninstall claimed it worked, but the folders were still there. So then I tried the repair option, this time it made an error window saying 'account already exists'. PLS HALP I HAVE NO LIFE OUTSIDE MINECRAFT
Uninstall using the installer then do the following:
You may need to reinstall the locally installed files that Minecraft puts into place.
To do so, press your Windows+R keys, type in %AppData% at the dialog, and press Enter. In the window that appears, open the .minecraft directory, and delete everything except for the saves directory that you see therein. Then, try running Minecraft again. Good luck!

After that, install it again with the download from minecraft.net and run it
