I made a 48 by 16 slime farm the middle chunk is not a slime chunk but the two back ones are and I have waiting for hours for a slime to spawn not in the slime farm away from it like you are supposed too and none have spawn I have watched countless videos on how to make a slime farm and how to make it work, I have a Xaero's minimap mod which supports showing slime chunks and as you can see in the photo the green chunks are slime chunks.
I am also on 1.11.2 and i really need slime balls.
